Labia

  • The plural of labium, meaning lip. The labia are often called the lips of the vagina.
  • In the female genitalia there are the two round larger outer labia (labia majora) and two smaller inner labia (labia minora).
  • The inner labia are most frequently pierced with rings.

Labret

  • A piece of jewelry inserted into the lower lip.

 

Lavender Oil

  • The essential oil of the plant Lavendula vera.
  • Lubricates piercings and is reputed to reduce scar tissue and prevent tightening.
  • Must be used in its diluted form.
  • The correct dilution is 10 drops lavender oil in 15mls grapeseed or sweet almond oil.

Lever 2000 ®

  • A readily available brand of antyibacterial soaps containing +-+- triclosan.
  • Suitable for piercing aftercare.

Lidocaine

  • A commonly available powerful local anaesthetic.
  • Chemical formula C14H22N2O.HCl.H2O.
  • Called lignocaine outside the USA.
